Abstract
Organizational cynicism is an attitude that causes people to acquire negative emotions and behaviors in work environments. This attitude has a psychologically strong aspect that teachers and administrators at education organizations should take into consideration. In this study, it has been aimed to determine the relationship between organizational cynicism that has been perceived by teachers -its sub-dimensions (cognitive, affective and behavioral) and organizational identification. This research has been designed at relational screening model. 245 teachers that work at 38 secondary and high schools in Antakya district of Hatay province have effectuated the sampling of this research. “Organizational Cynicism Scale” has been used to measure the perception of organizational cynicism of teachers and “Organizational Identification Scale” has been utilized to measure the levels of organizational identification of teachers. Obtained data have been analyzed with the aid of descriptive statistics, correlation and structural equation modeling. According to results of structural equation modeling, perceptions of organizational cynicism and its sub dimensions have a negative effect on organizational identification level of teachers. It has been seen beneficial to work towards lowering the perception of organizational cynicism of teachers so as to make them feel a valuable member of their schools and encourage them for contributing to production.
