ABSTRACT

In this study, the left hand techniques of classical guitar instrument and the present development in use of these techniques are reviewed. Guitar instrument belongs to a very expansive family. The development of technical variety in plugged instruments based on this expansiveness. Besides the variety of families, another affect on the technical development is to perform pieces, extended in capacity. The improvement of guitar music, by the will to use more open intervals and increasing of sections, lead to evolve advanced techniques. The techniques used today, are the subjects of advanced masterclasses, conferences and symposiums as of the ways of appliance. This study examines left hand techniques and the present uses, on the technical parts of the pieces from several periods which are selected by the author. The study aims left hand techniques on classical guitar to be attainable by suggesting fingerings on sections and with practical explanations.
