Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the graduate theses on the subject of metacognition in education in Turkey. Research was designed with a descriptive scanning model.The population of the research; The Higher Education Council (YÖK) constitutes 192 graduate theses on metacognition within the education faculties under the Department of Publication and Documentation. Content analysis technique was used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings, the theses on metacognition were distributed between 2007 and 2020. When the theses are examined in terms of genre, 128 theses have master's degree; It was seen that 64 theses were at the doctoral level. Quantitative research methods are mostly preferred in theses. Considering the distribution of the target group, most of the studies were conducted with undergraduate students Mostly on mathematics education as a subject area; On the subject of metacognition, it was seen that metacognitive awareness was emphasized. Suggestions made in theses are generally gathered in two dimensions.
