ABSTRACT

Historiography of studies of aesthetics and art disciplines in Turkey is important in order to chronologically archive available knowledge in these academic areas. Undoubtedly, effords to translate older works into contemporary Turkish also should be rated in the same importance.

Although they are insufficent, we have some outlining studies of the histories of aesthetics and art disciplines in hand. We tried to introduce the studies that have been conducted from Tanzimat Reform Era to Latin alphabet recognition in Turkey, by referencing mentioned studies. Our purpose has been to identify incentives of this process.
