Abstract
Transhumanism is an approach that aims to free human beings from their existing physical and mental ties through science and technology. It is aimed for human beings to get rid of the obstacles such as illness, aging and death that human beings have now and to have more cognitive abilities. Proponents of transhumanism focus on themes such as postponement of death and unlimited life span, life in extraterrestrial places, and the coexistence of humans with other intelligences. In this context, one of the main arguments of transhumanism is the morphological freedom expressed as the right of people to modify their bodies and minds. The basic idea underlying the approach is human enhancement. Today, the concept of biopolitics, which includes a broad field of study, can refer to many different issues aimed at prolonging people's lives. When the concept of biopolitics is mentioned, many elements including the regulations of life enter the scope of the concept and can be turne into a political tool. The study suggests that the concept of biopolititics based on postponement of death through the transhumanism and morphological freedom in the TV series Altered Carbon calls this as biopolitics of morphological freedom. In the series, in this concept of biopolitics that emerged in the context of the future prediction of transhumanism, it is argued that a state of control and domination over the body appears.
