Abstract

The aim of this study is determined to impact on the motivation, retention and success that using traditional children's games in social studies education. The study was carried out, Bursa Mustafakemalpasa Middle School 6th classroom, in the academic year 2012-2013. The research is an experimental study. In this research, A classes controlled group, B classes test groups are formed. In A classes using method of lectures, ın B classes processed in the game method. At the end of the study, there has been found difference in favor of the method of education with the traditional children games, according to the classical method of teaching. In addition, during the course of processing the game the motivation of students is higher than , the students in teaching the classical methods and the students has been found the course a lot of fun.
