ABSTRACT

In this study, attitudes of university students towards basic values of conservatism – a frequently mentioned concept recently – such as society, tradition, religion, family, authority, state, nation, etc. have been analyzed. In addition to the evaluation of general survey results, based on the fact that conservatism is a political movement, the relation between attitudes of university students towards the subject and some certain demographical and socio-economical phenomena has been scrutinized. The purpose was to determine the different groups in terms of the values sought to be protected. The reason why the study was carried out with university students is that this group of people, which is expected to take active role in the social and economical circles, can demonstrate which values we want to protect, or in other words, which values we are modernizing with.
